Super Bowl Soft Pretzel Station
Super Bowl is something I look forward to every year, who doesn’t? Everyone becomes such a die hard fan and energies are high. Now, I will not lie to you EVER. I am so not into football, like not even a little bit. Hate on it! What I do love is the atmosphere that comes along with football; the drinks, the food, the friends and the family. The most important part is that you’re spending time with the people you love and commenting on all the crazy commercials they created this year.
My favorite part about the Super Bowl or any party for that matter is the food, duh. I wanted to create something that was still in the realm of that tailgate feel, but kick it up a notch (Emeril is that you?) with some fun options for your guests. I decided on a soft pretzel station. Instead of making the pretzels into that fancy shape, make them into sticks (Pro Tip: they’re easier to display nicely AND eat this way).
Next, create your dips.
I think you should always have at least one thing that will be familiar to your guests. In this case I chose a grainy mustard – yep right out of the jar #noshame. The next thing thing I think about when eating something salty is having something sweet to smother it in. This, for me, was cream cheese. You know when you go to the mall and get a pretzel? THAT cream cheese dip. Also, since it is Super Bowl and all, I needed to create a beer cheese because what even is Super Bowl without beer and cheese sauce? I spiced mine up with some sriracha because my boyfriend refuses to eat anything without it. I guess I like it too *eye roll*.
Grab yourself some fake grass, wooden bowls and a napkin because Super Bowl is about get LIT.
Quick FYI, I used a Silicon Basting Brush in this recipe to egg wash the pretzels, and the Kitchenaid Stand Mixer with the Whisk Attachment for most steps. On the real, this thing has changed my life. Enjoy my friends!
