I think everyone knows by now that I am such a snacker. I would rather go to a restaurant and have five small plates than have to settle for one dish. In the spirit of the holiday season and mostly because I love entertaining I have created the ultimate snack experience! One of my favorite things in the entire world is cheese and what better way to spend time with my girls than over cheese and wine?!
I’m showing you how to build the perfect cheese board. I know it can be intimidating when you start to think about it. One of the struggles I always have is – do I need to follow all of these hard soft rules or do I just get what I want? Do you ever feel like that?
So here’s the breakdown kids:
USE THE THINGS YOU LIKE!
Chances are you like a variety of cheeses anyway and so will your guests. I will say having at least one creamy (like a brie) mixed in with your other hard cheeses will be a winner. Then you have crackers, breads, vegetables and all sorts of things to pair with it. I like having a few crackers that are flavored, not too intensely but I’m not a fan of those water crackers that feel like nothing in your mouth.
P.S. This Legende White Wine is DELICIOUS. It’s so light, crisp and refreshing.
So here I have some beet and seed crackers, which also add some awesome color. I have some more flavor neutral pita crackers and some fruits and vegetables to round it out. Another tip is to stay in season, use things that are festive for the time of year. I have pomegranate and pear on here which are both winter fruits. It’s important to have things on your board that are delicious but will not fill up your guests too much. Unless this is your dinner (which I do ALL the time and i’m not ashamed!)
What is your favorite cheese? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂
