My Clean Skincare Routine

March 24, 2020

I feel like most people that create clean skincare routine content have crazy stories and have always struggled with their skin. I was a little late to the party. We moved to NJ and my skin FREAKED OUT. Every product that touched my face caused a breakout, it was dry, super red all the time and I would have to cover it in tons of makeup. I was trying all kinds of different things until I decided to just make the jump to all clean products. I’m talking about actually clean – not the ones that claim to be and then are full of horrible things *eye roll*. I haven’t struggled with horrible acne my whole life but I have struggled with rosacea and redness, and I know I can’t be the only one that’s dying to just have an even skin tone, right?!

Clean Skincare Brands, I Trust and Love:

  • BeWell Skincare
  • Acure Beauty
  • Cocokind
  • Bejbi Skin

It was important to me to research products in my clean skincare routine because my skin is so sensitive, so I really wanted to be able to trust what I was putting on my face. Your skin has to have balanced PH just like the rest of your body. Once I started figuring out how to balance it, my acne cleared up, my dark spots were fading and my redness had almost completely gone away. Let me just note – a lot of my issues were also coming from my diet. IF you want to clean up your lifestyle check out my 5 Days to a Happier and Healthier Lifestyle Series (it’s free). There’s recipes in there like this Cuban nourish bowl...it’s my fav.

Listing the routine for you guys below, but I also created it in IGTV for you!

My Routine in Order:

  1. BeWell Cleansing Facial Oil or Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser

WHY YOU NEED ONE OF THEM:

Cleansing oils help pull toxins from your skin without stripping it of it’s natural oils.

2. Acure Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream

clean skincare acure cleansing cream

WHY YOU NEED IT:

If you’re anything like me, you wear makeup and a solo cleansing oil isn’t making you feel fully refreshed after a long day.

3. Cocokind Glow Essence

clean skincare cocokind glow essence

WHY YOU NEED IT:

Boosts hydration and opens your skin up to receiving what’s coming, plus it feels really great

4. Day Time: BeWell Probiotic Facial Toner (also lavender), Night: Bejbi Skin Liquid Exfoliant

WHY YOU NEED THEM:

The probiotic toner is super protective against outside pollutions and super balancing. The Bejbi liquid exfoliant is more of  a ‘let’s get to work’ vibe and removes any texture spots on your skin.

5. Cocokind Vitamin C Serum (day & night)

clean skincare routine, vitamin c serum

WHY YOU NEED THIS, SERIOUSLY

If you’re worried about redness or balancing your skin tone in general, this is where it’s at. This changed my skin so so much. It helps to brighten and balance.

6. Nourishing Face Cream (lavender) (day & night)

clean skincare routine nourishing face cream

WHY YOU NEED IT:

We all need a moisturizer, I love this one for it’s ingredients and texture.

7. Every Other Day: Cocokind Resurfacing Sleeping Mask (this is their version of a retinol cream which helps fade dark spots)

clean skincare routine

WHY YOU NEED IT:

It’s like a little elf that works on your skin overnight. This helps to brighten dark spots (hello acne scars and malasma)

8. BeWell Avocado & Sea Moss Exfoliator + BeWell Algae Detox Mask

WHY YOU NEED THEM:

You should be exfoliating your face from time to time, at least once a week. The Bejbi skin liquid exfoliator helps with this BUT it’s still fun to put nourishing ingredients on your face. The avocado & sea moss exfoliator isn’t super rough or abrasive but feels good. The algae detox mask is great for pulling out impurities.

I’m super passionate about this particular skincare routine because it has changed my life, truly. If you have any questions at all please feel free to comment on here or reach out via DM on IG!

I’m currently on a low FODMAP diet (which actually isn’t as bad as I thought) for the next 6 weeks 🙃 so I wanted to share what I’m eating in case anyone else is struggling with meal ideas! Let me know below if you’re interested in seeing more 😌

This was also on a day that we were getting low on food 😂 so it’s a bit random.
