Healthier Caramel Apple Crumble Bars

Jump to Recipe

There are so many things I love about the holiday’s but my number one has to be the food. It’s so fun for my family and I to come up with new recipes or make something traditional together. This year I decided to try my hand at a healthy apple crumble recipe. My twist? I partnered up with Health-Ade Kombucha and their Holiday Cheers flavor to make a caramel for the tops of these BARS. Yes, healthy caramel apple crumble bars – here we come!

How to MakeThis Healthy Apple Crumble Recipe

  1. Make the Crust

Adding the ‘butter’ and flour to the bowl of a food processor will make your life so much easier!

  2. Par Bake

You want to par bake the crust for about 10 minutes to make sure it will hold up against the hot apples

  3. Make the Apple Filling

Once the apples are cooked down with sugar, they make their own caramel of sorts. You want to cook these low and slow, no one wants burned apples! Now pour them over your par baked crust.

  4. Make the Crumble

This is a super simple way to make a grain-free crumble, which I adapted from Liz Moody

  5. Make the Caramel

The Health-Ade Holiday Cheers flavor has hints of nutmeg and chocolate so it’s the perfect fit for this recipe. All you have to do is throw everything into a pot and watch it brown and smell delicious. Set in a container to cool

How to Cut Apple Crumble Bars

  1. Take the edges of the parchment as handles and lift the bars out of the pan once cooled.
  2. Cut into 9 squares

This healthy apple crumble recipe is my new favorite that I’ve made so far this season! I love being able to get different apples from all of the farmers markets in town. Also, if you haven’t gotten your hands on Health-Ade Holiday Cheers flavor yet, RUN, don’t walk to your nearest grocery store. You will not be disappointed.
