Shampoo is one of the things I struggle to find an affordable, clean, actually good product for. It almost feels like all of them leave my hair in a greaseball. No one wants greasy hair, am I right? I’ve tried so many of them that I thought I would share some of them + their characteristics + price so you know what you’re in for if you’re looking to make the switch to something cleaner!
Clean Shampoo Round-Up
- Honest Company Shampoo + Body Wash $7.99
I’ve tried a few of The Honest Company products and I actually really like them, but shampoo is a different story. So this is a shampoo and a body wash in one. It smells great. When you put it on your hair it does lather up but not like a ‘regular’ shampoo would.
This is good for you if: You have a baby and want to hit their hair and body in one shot, it won’t dry them out. This makes a great body wash, again, because it’s super nourishing. It’s also great if you have drier, coarse hair.
- ACURE Curiously Clarifying Shampoo $9.99
The Acure brand is something I use a lot. I love their face products. SInce this is marketed as a ‘clarifying’ clean shampoo I thought it would be more PH balancing, lather up a little bit more, etc. Their ingredients in this one do contain argan oil and avocado oil.
This is good for you if: your hair/scalp is on the drier side.
- ACURE Daily Workout Watermelon and Blood Orange Shampoo $9.99
This is a total winner in my book! It smells amazing, doesn’t break the bank, lasts a long time AND doesn’t make my hair greasy at all.
This is good for you if: You’re someone who needs to wash their hair everyday and is also prone to greasy hair.
- 365 by Whole Foods Lavender Shampoo $4.99
This is definitely one of the most affordable clean shampoos on the market. I actually use this brand of body wash too and it’s great! The only thing is, if you have thin hair, or oily hair, this will not be your friend.
This is good for you if: You need something non-toxic, super affordable and your hair needs more oil/moisture.
- Briogeo Scalp Revival $42.00
This is definitely one of the splurge items. TBH I got it in the ‘birthday gift’ from Sephora – but I’m in love with it! This is not something you should use everyday, it’s more for one of those “spa days.”
This is good for you if: you’re someone that get’s build-up, this is perfect to scrub it all away and leave your hair feeling clean and fresh.
