If there is anything that speaks to my soul it’s dessert. I feel most comfortable and at home in the kitchen. When I’m in a funk or a bad mood, baking or cooking makes it better. Weirdly enough, that’s when I get most creative also. Maybe Kevin should leave the toilet seat up more often *eye roll*. ANYWAY – I always love learning new tips and tricks, especially about baking because it is not easy. When you’re cooking you can throw things in here and there and it doesn’t matter but when you’re baking everything has to be precise. Thankfully, there are some amazing chef’s in this world to learn from – one of them being Dana Herbert.
He is coming to Macy’s Aventura to prepare some of his sweet – award winning dishes for YOU! Learn from Dana in a cooking dmeo as he tells you some of his best kept culinary secrets and tips in the kitchen. The best part? You get to sit back, relax, eat and sip on some drinks! The cooking demo will be taking place on Saturday, February 24th at 4:00PM. You can RSVP here , with your ticket you also get a $10 Macy’s gift card!
To be honest cooking demo’s are one of my favorite ways to learn. First of all, you can ask questions, and second of all the chef’s are more open and casual. They’re willing to tell you modifications to recipes and alternative techniques if you don’t necessarily have the proper equipment at home. Also, I love being able to try the dishes as they make them because then I know how it’s SUPPOSED to taste or look like.
I’m definitely pumped about this cooking demo – you’ll even be able to pick up a copy of his new book Sweet & Savory Union and get it signed! I hope to see you there!
