Sushi Garage has a contemporary style with a sense of creativity and warmth. The fish (not real obviously) hanging from the ceiling add a playful touch to this restaurant. Sushi Garage offers classic Japanese dishes using simple fresh ingredients.
Being a major sushi fan, I was super excited to try out the new summer tasting menu for two.
For $70 you and your boyfriend, girlfriend or best friend can share one 300 ml bottle of sake, edamame, Sushi Garage’s Lemon Veggie Roll, Hamachi Scallion Micro Cilantro Roll, Chef’s choice of 10 Nigiris, and a sushi garage shot for dessert.
I usually don’t play favorites with sushi because I love it all but I will say the Lemon Veggie Roll was my favorite. The tartness of the lemon and the crunchy onions sprinkled on top made for a delicious combo.
All of the Nigiri were super fresh and beautiful in color – which is definitely what you want to see when eating raw fish. Eating something raw is already a risk in itself and I appreciate that Sushi Garage takes the time and effort to make sure everything they have is fresh.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with the dessert shot. No alcohol here – don’t worry! It was a mix of hot and cold and sweet and tart and a very interesting, yet delicious way to end the meal. I left feeling satisfied and content instead of bloated and needing to un-button my pants (we’ve all been there, don’t lie). I think this is a deal worth a date night, or a night out with one of your friends. The menu is simple, clean and delicious and leaves you right where you need to be.
