Daniel Boulud and his new Restaurant are Taking Miami By Storm

The sheer luxury of walking into the Boulud Sud restaurant in the JW Marriott is enough for me, but luckily I was able to make it to a table. The vibe is slightly bohemian with a modern finish. The restaurants high ceilings and open shelving make for an open, airy feel perfect for it’s Mediterranean cuisine.

Take it from me and order the dishes below – you will NOT be disappointed!

Mezze – Spicy Morrocan Hummus, Babaganoush, Herb Falafel

The hummus and babaganoush are so fresh and flavorful and the herb falafel was perfectly cooked. The texture was soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Artichokes Alla Romana – Nipatella Aioli, Mint

This is one of those dishes that is super simple, but SO incredibly flavorful and tasty. The mint adds a certain freshness that makes you keep eating!

Shortrib Barbajuan – Swiss Chard, Cracked Pepper, Parmesan

This is almost like an empanada…a shortrib empanada, need I say more?

Kale & Beet Salad – Date, Candied Walnuts Labneh

Labneh is a middle eastern strained yogurt cheese and is such a great addition to this salad. The labneh is tangy, the candied walnuts and dates are sweet and then you have the bite from the kale.

Yellowfin Tuna Crudo – Lemon Confit, Fresh Herbs, Local Radishes

I am a tuna LOVER. Whenever I see it on the menu, I have to get it and this one did not disappoint. It’s so delicate but the flavor from the lemon and the herbs add such a punch.

Octopus A La Plancha – Arugula, Marcona Almond, Jerez Vinegar

As I’ve said time and time again, octopus is really hard to master because it can get really chewy really fast! Of course, Boulud Sud nailed it and this was one of my favs.

Agnolotti – Pumpkin, Sage, Ricotta Salata

Just get it. There are no words. This is phenomenal.

Chicken Tagine – Couscous, Caulliflower, Turnips

This is such a beautiful presentation but it also tastes amazing.

Braised Veal Ossobuco – Gnocchi ala Romana, Mushroom, Citrus Gremolata

The veal was so tender and the earthy flavor from the mushrooms matched with the citrus was out of this world.

Grapefruit Givre – Sesame Halva, Rose Loukoum, Grapefruit Sorbet

This is such an interesting combo! So refreshing and tasty.
